We’re committed to supporting Wiltshire’s food and drink sector — championing processors, growers, retailers, and hospitality businesses of all kinds to help them thrive.

This page contains details of current Wiltshire Council-funded programmes that are open to a wide variety of businesses, but with priority currently being given to food and drink businesses. From early-stage startups to businesses ready to grow, you’ll find a whole range of support here. 

Start Up Programme

This programme, delivered by The FutureSmiths in association with Wiltshire Council, is designed to support early-stage ventures up to 3 years old/not incorporated before 1 January 2022. Whether you’re looking to launch or want structure and support for your existing business, this is for you.

This programme is fully funded by Wiltshire Council and open to anyone operating a business in Wiltshire's local authority area.

Fit for Growth

The Fit for Growth Programme, delivered by BICinnovation in association with Wiltshire Council, empowers businesses in Wiltshire to grow and achieve their ambitious goals, transforming their journey towards scalable success.
 
Businesses based in Wiltshire’s local authority area can benefit from fully funded support and tap into BICinnovation’s proven track record of helping businesses like yours achieve remarkable growth.

Fit for Net Zero

If you’re a small or medium-sized enterprise in Wiltshire's local authority area and you want to understand how to manage your business’s carbon emissions, look no further. Severn Wye, with the backing of Wiltshire Council are currently offering free energy-efficiency surveys to help decarbonise your business and save money on energy bills. Click here to apply for this scheme. 

If you're a retail, hospitality or leisure business based in one of Wiltshire's 22 towns, you can also benefit from a survey and grant funding for undertaking recommended energy efficiency measures. Find out more about the Wiltshire Towns small business energy efficiency programme here. 

Grant funding

Wiltshire Council has designed its Business Fit for Future scheme to support local businesses to start up, grow, and thrive in a changing economy.

Grants are available for both startups and established businesses. All grants are for capital costs only and require a certain level of match funding, depending on the programme. However, this can be a great opportunity to invest in new equipment, improve your infrastructure and expand your premises.
